You savor the beauty of the setting Sun
you wait for the Sun to descent
and vanish into the vast horizon
only to wait to it to emerge again
I like to wait for the first rays of the setting Sun
when the Sun begins its journey
when it sojourns its burns and soothes the soul
and turns the sky both dark and bright
The first rays of the setting Sun
tell me that even giants may fall
and only true giants emerge again
from oblivious darkness into light divine
The first rays of the setting Sun
tell me that the journey is beyond life
taking new challenges every day
and new days in every life
Emerging again and again
not because the task is incomplete
but because emerging is the task
as is to lie down again
The first rays of the setting Sun
show how quick the day can turn into night
how soon can the vast sky change its hues
and yet man frets over changes in his journey
For he does not understand
that change is the only constant
that’s what the sky tries to tell him everyday
and will continue so till he does not understand
But he pays no heed
for he is too busy to look at the sky
too afraid to acknowledge
the vastness exists only to aid him to survive
The first rays of the setting Sun
know no bounds of beauty
for them it is a passion and reason to be
not a misjudged reason of forced duty
And they come everyday to paint the sky
paint it before in darkness it dies
Do they come to pay their last rites?
Or do they to say goodnight?
They only come to fulfill their destiny
to create beauty man forgets
They do not care for outcome of their deeds
for they understand consequence is not a result endeavors
For consequences are never in the hands of man
they are only responsible for their actions
and consequence is guided by a higher power
well beyond the control of the mortal
The first rays of the setting Sun ask me
that me another day has passed
have I lived that day in the sunshine
or have I simply waited, for the darkness.
